WHAT IS A GORFTY?! GORFTY stands for Greater Orlando Reform Federation Temple Youth, but for the Jewish teens in our community, it’s a whole lot more! Imagine a place you feel totally comfortable, wanted, accepted. A place that offers really cool programs connecting fun, social action, leadership, community, and Judaism. It’s hard to imagine a place like this that could possibly exist! Give GORFTY a try and you will be mind blown!
GORFTY meets as a part of YALA! on Monday nights and sporadically throughout the month. Programs include Mystery Bus Rides, Kickball H20, Bubble Soccer, Limo Scavenger Hunts, Shabbaton Overnights, Broomball Showdown, Board Games Brought to Life and MUCH MORE!
GORFTY’s wide range of programs and events gives everyone an opportunity to participate on the days that work for them! GORFTY is a teen-led youth program overseen by and staffed by Lauren Oback and Blaine Smith along with their staff of youth advisors. GORFTY is a great opportunity for meeting new friends and connecting on a whole other level with old friends!
As a Temple affiliated with the Union of Reform Judaism, GORFTY is affiliated with NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth). As members of NFTY, we attend three-weekend kallot each year. Come and see what GORFTY is all about!
