Gallery Opening and Cocktails

Saturday, May 20, 2017 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Everyone, please join us on this one, amazing, very special night where we all celebrate together CRJ’s first ever Arts Festival! This gallery opening will feature the diverse artworks of our talent-rich congregants. All the fine art and crafts will be on display for the first time at this Saturday gala. Some exhibits will be strictly for viewing, and others will be for sale. Be the first to get a sneak peek and snag dibs on buying them. Not to mention, you’ll be supporting the arts, your fellow congregants, and CRJ! A portion of all art sales are being donated to our congregation. There will be wine, a nosh, and an evening with special performances, featuring show tunes written by some of Broadway’s greatest Jewish songwriters.

It’s only $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Best of all, your ticket price can be applied to any art purchase all weekend long!

05/17/17 Wed. 7:00 to 9 pm Mono Printing and Collage with Nina Chatham
Learn to Mono print on cards and paper and begin the collage process by using Gelli Plates and Golden Fluid Acrylic paints. Then we will use our paper and collage them as cards and small wall hangings. These methods can be used to brainstorm a story idea for ANY creative writing medium.Howard Rodman, the president of Hollywood’s Writers Guild of America, states, “Michael Tabb has thought long, hard, and usefully about how to write screenplays with vision and intent. 05/21/17 Sun. 2:00 to 4:00 PM Zenspirations ® Patterning with Joanne Fink 
Rhythmic patterns can enhance any piece – whether an illustration, border or initial. Join master calligrapher Joanne Fink, author of Zenspirations Patterns & Lettering, to create your very own Zenspirations design. Joanne will start by teaching a few simple patterns, and will show participants how to do a simple illustration, and then double-stroke it to create space along the perimeter. Using Sakura’s Micron 01 pen, participants will create their own unique Zenspirations design by decorating these perimeter spaces with patterns. Everyone will complete their design by adding touches of metallic and glitter color with Sakura’s Stardust® and metallic Gelly Roll® pens.
